Some of my reviews have been published in West Cobb Magazine. Below is a list of those articles.
Cafe De Paris
Located in a strip mall in East Cobb, Café de Paris is a welcome refuge from the chain restaurants and fast food establishments that are abundant along the Johnson Ferry / Roswell Rd area. I visited this quaint French restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. Tucked away in the corner of the Woodlawn Commons shopping center, Café de Paris is attached to a European style home décor store –C’est Moi, both owned by the same people. Read more
Henry’s Louisiana Grill
Ooh La La! That’s all you need to know about Henry’s Louisiana Grill. No, seriously that’s the name of the dish you need to order when you visit Henry’s Louisiana Grill. It’s been tempting me back there for years now. Think fried shrimp, oysters and crawfish, mixed together with tasso (ham) and spinach in spicy cream sauce all over angel hair pasta. It was even named one of the 50 dishes worth driving for by the AJC. Read More
La Strada Trattoria
Our server, Dee, who’s been at La Strata just under 2 years, recited to us the 4 appetizer specials and 4 entree specials that evening without having to consult a cheat sheet once. As she touted the stuffed shrimp, we gave that a try. And I knew I wanted to try the calamari, of which they have 2 offerings – 1 is the traditional ring calamari with red sauce, but I found myself leaning to the more unusual calamari steak, which, in it’s appearance is like a thin fried chicken cutlet. Marietta Fish Market
It is an oddity to have a restaurant offering valet service on a stretch of road mostly marked by fast food establishments, gas stations and outdated strip malls. There is some self-parking available, but by early evening (about 5 pm) most of it becomes valet territory. Driving by more times than I can count, and seeing the crowds at the Marietta Fish Market, it is apparent parking is a huge issue. The most recent Father’s day found me there with my dad along with my brother and a couple others.

Pho Hoang Long
Sometimes a girl just needs a good Pho. And sometimes hole in the wall places have the best food. That was substantiated a couple weeks ago when I visited Pho Hoang Long Vietnamese Restaurant in Marietta. Glen and a couple of his coworkers discovered Pho Hoang Long near their work and have been die hard fans ever since. It is a great find for those of us who neither live nor work anywhere near Buford Highway. Read More
Pacci Ristorante Brunch
Our festivities began with a Bloody Mary, as most good brunches do. And this was a damn good Bloody Mary with thoughtful details like a funky colored grape tomato and a pickle wrapped in a salami. You’re not likely to find these at those other bottomless bloody mary brunch joints.Read More
Red Sky Tapas
One thing Atlanta has been missing for a while is a great dueling piano bar. I remember visiting Jelly Rolls a couple times in Buckhead and only had an appreciation for how much fun it was until it was closing down. After visiting some great dueling piano bars in various cities, I was so happy to hear that Red Sky has dueling pianos on weekends. But it is not only a dueling piano bar. It is also a Martini bar as well as a Tapas bar. Read More
Ritz Carlton Holiday Brunch
As true with most cities, weekend Brunch is a pretty big deal here in Atlanta. While I do love a good brunch, this time of year I instead tend to celebrate my own form of weekend hibernation: Sleep until the sun is high, then find some eggs and bacon fried. However, somewhere in these light shortened days, there is a special Holiday and the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead could get anyone, even Scrooge, in the Holiday spirit. Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
Although Ruth’s Chris had humble beginnings, the cooking styles, recipes and overall hospitality and top-notch service are still evident when visiting Ruth’s Chris Steak House. I felt that immediately when walking in the door. Read More
Soba Bar and Bistro
Stepping inside Soba Bar and Bistro, you would never know that it once housed El Toro restaurant. The restaurant has been completely transformed. Gone are any traces of a chain Mexican restaurant, replaced by beautifully appointed furnishings and several semi-private dining areas, perfect for groups or couples. Read More
Waterstone Grill
Our complimentary rolls included not only regular rolls but a zucchini muffin type of roll as well. These were slightly sweet and very moist. I like that they offer something a little different than average rolls. I’m not the only one who likes them this much – they’ve become so popular with regulars, that the AJC has published the recipe in a recent issue. Read More
