When a new Barbecue joint hits town, everyone wants to know what style of BBQ is being served. Smoke Ring  has been branded as: gastrocue, traditional, Southern and Georgian BBQ. Barbecue with style is what the husband and wife team Executive Chef Jordan Wakefield, and Bar Manager Erin Leigh Wakefield are serving up in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood. Atlanta based restaurant group 101 Food Concepts , appears to have added another successful restaurant to their portfolio which includes, Food 101, Meehan’s and Cibo e Beve.

What is “Smoke Ring”? Some slow cooked meats exhibit a pink color just under the surface crust (called bark). This pink ring is often referred to as a “smoke ring” and is considered a prized attribute in the barbecue world. Connoisseurs know the presence of a smoke ring indicates the meat was smoked slowly for an extended period of time.
