For me, Sundays are usually a day of catch up. After a lazy morning, I usually clean, do laundry, write some and catch up on my DVR. However, after hearing of the Sunday special at Yebo: Mussels from Brussels, I knew I had to check it out. Yebo, is the little brother of 10 Degrees South, located just a bit north of Phipps Plaza on Roswell Road. Yebo features dishes similar to 10 Degrees South.
The smallish restaurant is located inside Buckhead Phipps Plaza. Thinking we’d grab a quick, early dinner, I knew this was the kind of place I wanted to linger for a while once I sunk into the comfortable seating and started listening to the musician – not sure his name but he knew a broad range of tunes that spanned decades.
The mussels menu features four different kinds of flavors and there is a white and red wine pairing suggested. I’d usually opt for red but the Chenin Blanc sounded quite tasty, and it didin’t disappoint.
Mussel Flavors include:
• Marinière: White wine and shallots
• Belgian: Hoegaarden beer
• Mediterranean: Tomato, garlic and basil
• Thai: Coconut broth and curry paste

The mussels are served up in fancy bowls that have a front slot for fries too. We tried all except the Mediterranean. I loved the sweetness of the Hoegaarden and the slight spiciness of the Thai. Oh and these mussels were HUGE!
The cost is $16 per dish and it comes with your choice of sauce and fries. I did see a couple loners, dining on the mussel special, but it so much fun with a group. You can try different flavors and listen to some terrific live music too. The Mussels from Brussels is available Sundays only from 3 – 8pm at Yebo restaurant.
