STG Trattoria, the Italian casual eatery in Buckhead, has added lunch service as well as a new chef. Chef Sean Telo, most recently of STK, just began just a couple weeks ago. We attended a media preview last week to sample some of his new lunch offerings. Lunch service at STG Trattoria begins Tuesday, February, 19.
Beginning our lunch, we were treated to a Barolo Ginger Soda. With lunch off to a refreshing start, we nibbled on some tasty salumi, warm bread and house made cheese. After a quick tour of the kitchen, complete with a peek at the direct-from-Naples, Italy-pizza oven, we sat down for a sampling of salad, sandwiches and pizza offerings on the new lunch menu.
Sandwiches feature chicken with truffle aioli and arugula and we loved the Prosciutto with mozzarella butter and basil. Sadly, we didn’t get to sample the House made sausage with fig mustard and vidalia onion jam, but we look forward to trying it on another visit. The lamb sausage pizza with ricotta salata and mint features farm eggs, a signature trait of STG’s pizzas. We were first introduced to eggs on pizza when we sampled the brunch menu. Our favorite pizza at lunch, was the Salumi (pictured above with Sean Telo) with meats and chilis for a spicy kick!
