Located OTP in Suwanee, Moodance Restaurant and Lounge is both an upscale restaurant and lounge in Suwanee that is a popular for special occassions like weddings and birthdays too. Pulling in talent from not only musicians, Moondance has a fantastic chef too. Chef Todd Paige has well over twenty years in restaurant and has worked at Atlanta’s City Grill, the Intercontinental Buckhead as well as Smyrna’s Blackstone Restaurant.
Owner, Chris, invited to sample some of their brunch specialities on a recent Sunday. If you enjoy jazz, you’ll definitely want to visit Moondance for the jazz brunch on Sundays, featuring the Flycats. No proper brunch begins with a Bloody Mary in my opinion, and the one prepared by Moondance is top notch. If you visit maybe your server will let you in on the secret ingredient that makes Moondance’s stand out.
Why the picture with the stop watch above? Mr. ARB told our server he’d be ready for another Bloody Mary in three minutes to which our server replied, “I’ll be right back with your 3-minute Bloody Mary.” For fun, we wanted to see how close he’d get to the actual 3 minute mark. And he pretty much nailed it. How’s that for service?
With a round of tasty Bloody Mary’s and home made breads of blueberry, poundcake and biscuits, brunch was off to a fantastic start. While there’s certainly french toast and eggs on the menu, if you feel like indulging a bit, go for the crab hash or the pan seared Georgia Trout. Both are served with a delicious herbed hollandaise sauce.
Portions were mighty large too. The crab was enough for me to make a small lunch the next day and the trout came with two large filets. The dinner menu features Crisp Roasted Duck and Alaskan Halibut that we can’t wait to go back and sample.
