Euphoria Food, Wine and Music Festival, Greenville, SC

I’ve been holding out on you. Big time. Last year, I was invited to attend what is quite possibly the most exciting food and wine festival I’ve ever been to and I haven’t shared this fabulous experience with you. The event was Euphoria, a Food and Wine festival in Greenville, SC. Euphoria is now in its seventh year. Euphoria 2012 is scheduled for September 20 – 23.

There are several things I love about Euphoria. It is a combination of food, wine, AND music. Wasn’t our Atlanta Food & Wine Festival kind of lacking in the wine department? I loved that the pricing was clear – each event is detailed and you can pick and choose what you want to attend. Or buy the VIP package for high rollers. Lastly, I didn’t feel like I had to choose one thing over another and miss out on something big. Oh and one more thing – EVERYTHING is in walking distance. I parked my car and never needed it until it was time to leave on Monday.

I would attempt to write one summary of the event, but it just isn’t possible. So, I’m going to break the four-day event down into multiple posts. First begins with the arrival at Greenville on Thursday night. After just a short, two-hour drive from Atlanta, Mr. ARB and I were relaxing in our hotel room before heading out to have some hors d’oeuvres before the Songwriter’s Recipe featuring Edwin McCain, one of the co-founders of Euphoria.

I enjoy live music but appreciate small intimate venues over huge ones where the performer is the size of a dime from my seat. Edwin McCain kicked off his festival with a fun night of entertainment in a small venue. See the video I shot below. What a terrific start to the weekend!
