Seasons 52 Summer Menu

Seasons 52 has really freshened up their menu within the last year. When I was invited this spring to sample their menu, I didn’t set the bar that high, but I was very impressed with just how tasty their has become. And all at under 475 calories per dish? So, when Seasons 52 invited me back to taste the summer menu, I eagerly awaited that meal.

Along with Seasons 52 new summer menu items, I also sampled some of their tasty cocktails and wine. We started the meal Seasons signature flat breads. The two we sampled, BBQ Chicken and Artichoke and Goat cheese, couldn’t have been more different, but were equally tasty.

We had two lovely cocktails: watermelon and strawberry, pictured above. I also quite enjoyed the first white wine we tasted, Aveleda Vinho Verde from Portugal, and I’m not much of a white wine lover. Master Sommelier George Miliotes does an outstanding job of finding obscure (read inexpensive) wines that pair well with the food.

Besides the delicious food we get to sample, Seasons 52 also has a live webcast with their head chef and Sommelier George Miliotes discussing wine and food. We can tweet them questions and they may answer them. Anything you’d like me to ask them? Tweet me @atleatsntweets or contact me and I’ll ask them at the next event.

Next up was the arugula salad with goat cheese. So perfect for a light summer meal. I loved that the goat cheese was rather mild, not slap-you-in-the-face bold like I often find it to be. Vegetarians are not forgotten either. The vegetarian plate consists of five different offerings: Chili Relleno, Quinoa, Asparagus, Taco with beans and Cedar roasted Tofu with Mango Chutney. The latter two items, my favorites.

In season for only a handful of weeks is the Copper River Salmon. This was a delicious piece of fish. Although I was pretty full by this point, I couldn’t resist taking a few bites of the Piedmontese steak. This is a new breed of cow from the Piedmont region of Italy that are leaner than traditional steak. It was pretty hard to believe that this dish is under 475 calories as well. Again, it was paired with delicious wine selection. Red this time, Markham Cellar 1879 from Napa was another winner.

While the summer menu at Seasons 52 lasts all summer long, the Copper River Salmon is only available for a limited amount of time. Check with your local Seasons 52 before heading out there to have it. Also, don’t miss out on the new mini indulgence desserts: Raspberry Cannoli or Blueberry Cheesecake. Blueberry is now tied with Key Lime in my book for best mini indulgence from Seasons 52.
