Group Outing: Red Hare Brewing + Tasty China

I’m a fan of the newest brewery in Atlanta Marietta – Red Hare Brewing. I tried their IPA at a local bar and was hooked. Much like Sweetwater, they do brewery tours. The tours and samples are free. If you want the souvenir glass, it is $10 for six tickets. I know 10 bucks isn’t a lot, but c’mon guys, quit being stingy and give us a good enough pour to last the length of the tour.

Tours are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The brewery is open between 5:30 and 7:30 on Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturdays it is 3:30 – 5:30. Get there as close to opening time as possible if you’d like to hang out, play some games (there’s corn hole outside) and tour the brewery. I took the tour but found it quite boring. I couldn’t hear most of what they guide was saying as they had a loud compressor on. Unless you are a hard core beer enthusiast, I’d sit the tour out.

Besides the IPA, I quite enjoyed the Watership Brown Ale and the Saison which had cinnamon flavor to it. Be aware, they want you out of there by closing time and not a minute later – there’s no lingering.

So, what to do on a hot summer day after imbibing some tasty brews? Our group of 12 headed to Tasty China just up the street. It is the perfect spot to chow down after all that beer. The only thing that would have been better is if they had Red Hare on draft at Tasty China. We shared so many dishes: smoked duck, twice cooked pork, General Tso’s shrimp and more. What a fun evening. Grab your peeps and head up to Red Hare and Tasty China for a fun evening.
