Chay, the proprietor behind Chay J’s New Orleans candies recently dropped me off some of here goodies to try out. I sampled her Creole Pretzels: homemade buttery sweet caramel and mammoth pecans atop salty crispy pretzels. These were a great combo of sweet caramel, nutty pecans and of course the salty pretzels.

In addition, I sampled the N’awlins Style Popcorn. This is popcorn covered in the same sweet caramel as the Creole Pretzels. Again, another tasty combo. I actually had them dropped off at Glen’s work, so he shared some with his co-workers and they all enjoyed the NOLA treats!

Chay is a native of New Orleans, and although now based in Atlanta, her love of New Orleans and its rich culture is very evident in the way she incorporates it into her products. She worked alongside her father, in his candy store most of her life where she learned to make the delectable goodies. In her own words, Char says she wanted to “bring some Crescent City flava to the Peach State!”
