Atlanta’s Best Patios and Outdoor Dining Spots

Great Outdoor Spots for Dining or Drinking

Recently, I attended a Braves game and was was struck by the lack of humidity in the air. It is the sign that the cool, crisp fall evenings are just around the corner. And not a moment too soon. There isn’t much I love more than spending time outdoors when the weather is so perfect. To that end, here is a list of some restaurants / bars around the Atlanta area with great patios, perfect to enjoy the coming fall evenings.

Alto Rex Lounge at Palomar Hotel

AltoRex is the terrace level bar at the Palomar Hotel. Although not a rooftop bar, it does offer nice views of W Peachtree. In addition to cocktails, you can also order small bites here as well.
866 West Peachtree St NW Atlanta 678 412 2402

FAB – French American Brasserie

Cool downtown location with stunning views of the skyline from it’s rooftop terrace, what’s not to love about FAB (French American Brasserie). Oh yeah, chef Stephen Sharp was recently named hottest chef over at Adventurous Tastes. Give FAB a try, I doubt you will be disappointed.
30 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd., Suite 125, Atlanta. 404 266 1440

Ra Sushi

Ra Sushi opened just a couple months ago in the Midtown area. While the decor inside is posh and sophisticated, I love that the outside patio has comfortable sofas for lounging. Grab your friends and head out here for an evening of fun.
1080 Peachtree Street, Suite 8, Atlanta. 404 267 0114

Anis Cafe

Anis has been a standby in Atlanta for many years. I haven’t eaten there in years. and while I know the food was great, I’ve not forgotten the patio with its quaint and charming appeal.
2974 Grandview Ave NE, Atlanta. 404 233 9889

Cafe Di Sol

One of my old standbys of long ago, I remember when Cafe di Sol was Cafe Diem. Even with the name change, it hasn’t lost any of its charm. It still is has the same cozy atmosphere I fell in love with all those years ago.
640 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta. 404 724 0711

Park Tavern

Sitting on the edge of Piedmont Park, Park Tavern provides great views of the park with a spectacular outdoor dining area. When it rains, they pour – $1 drafts when it is raining.
500 10th St NE Atlanta. 404 249 0001

Pure

Brought to you by the folks you started Aspen’s, this small taqueria it is packed just about every night of the week. It is a lively atmosphere for getting together for drinks or dinner.
103 Roswell St., Alpharetta. 678-240-0023

Horseradish Grill

Located in Buckhead, this restaurant’s southern-inspired cuisine has been around for a while, but still keeps things vibrant. With a charming patio, this is the perfect place to enjoy a meal on a spring or fall evening right before catching a concert at nearby Chastain Park.
4320 Powers Ferry Rd NW Atlanta. 404 255 7277

Indigo Historic Roswell

What a charming and inviting patio they have. But it isn’t only that that is the draw. It is the warm friendly service from wait staff and the chef, who almost always greets each and every guest personally.
1170 Canton St Roswell. 678 277 9551

Zucca Bar and Pizzeria

Located in the mixed use shopping center off South Atlanta Rd in Cobb, you almost forget that just a few feet away is the parking lot. The trees provide much privacy, almost enclosing you in the patio. Pizzas are served up quickly but not without an abundance of flavor.
2860 Atlanta Rd SE. Smyrna 770 803 9990

La Fonda Latina / Fellinis

Looking for a fun atmosphere that won’t break the bank? LaFonda Latina and Fellini’s Pizza are 2 great choices. With multiple locations throughout Atlanta, they are almost always located right next door to each other. LaFonda has long been a favorite for excellent latin food at great prices. Favorites are the beef or chicken enchiladas and the veggie paella. Fellini’s has great salads and huge think crust pizza by the slice.

Canoe

Due to the recent floods in ATL, Canoe unfortunately had flood damage, but hopefully they will be up and running again in no time. Canoe is still one of the best views in the city. Relax on the patio overlooking the Chattahoochee River. But it isn’t all about looks here. The food is as tasty as the views are beautiful.
4199 Paces Ferry Road S.E. 770-432-2663

Babette’s

Located near Freedom park in a renovated 1920′s home. the interior is a french country home. Babette’s is an off the beaten path find in the middle of the more trendy Atlanta restaurants. While almost all the reviews are for brunch, don’t miss out on dinner. Often there is a prix fixe dinner deal available. And on a fall evening, nothing is better than sipping on a glass of red while relaxing on their deck.
573 N Highland Ave NE. Atlanta 404 523 9121

So, I’m sure I’ve missed some spots. What are your favorite outdoor dining spots in the ATL?
