I was browsing msn the other day when I should have been working. I came across this game, Busy Bistro. It is an online game that helps with memorization skills. We all need a little fine tuning every now and then, I guess. And, hey, if you are into cooking, this makes it that much more fun.
So, I downloaded the application and decided to test it out. Basically, the way it works is you are shown a recipe list, followed by the cooking sequence for a given meal. It could be a side dish, appetizer or main course. Then you are taken to another page with a timer and given a certain amount of time to list ingredients, cooking terms, or match up which appliance goes with which term.
They have different levels, so if you are a very proficient cook, you could work your way up in levels pretty quickly. I don’t usually play these kinds of games, but it was a nice break from the norm. What’s more, I found it fun and more helpful as far as a memory recall exercise than anything else.
If you have little ones that are interested in cooking or you would like to get them interested, this is a fun way to get them started. As it starts at a pretty novice level, it will be challenging for them, and they can build up to higher levels as they become more skilled.
