I’ve reconnected with an old flame- Red Lobster. I know Red Lobster isn’t anything that glamorous and by no means something a real foodie would blog about. Right? Well, to me, being a foodie means that you enjoy good food no matter the location.
When I was a little girl, if ever given the choice of where to go for a meal I always, without fail, chose Red Lobster. Fast forward about 10 years and it didn’t have the same appeal as it once did. Call me crazy but the plastic booths and the decor that hasn’t changed since I can remember kept me from going as often. Also, I’ve become less than thrilled with chain restaurants.
However, I’ve continued to go there a couple times a year as my dad always wants to go there for his birthday or Father’s Day. He is one of those people that only will drive to places within about 5 miles of where they live.
So, on a lazy Friday Glen and I decided to meet up for lunch at Red Lobster (Kennesaw location). We were promptly seated as it wasn’t that crowded and our server, Lori, was excellent. She was probably the best server I’ve had at any restaurant in the last year. I wish I told her that.
We started off with the cheddar biscuits, followed by a salad. Then for the main entrees. I went here with the objective to have the lobster pizza, that way I wouldn’t be too stuffed. BUT, I couldn’t resist the all-you-eat shrimp dishes they had. They had shrimp scampi, shrimp in cajun spices, and coconut shrimp. Delicious – I must have gained a couple pounds on that meal alone.
